Shenzhen University and Conservatorio Torino Became Partners

On the afternoon, 18th May, 2009, Shenzhen University and Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” Torino, Italy singed a partnership agreement at concert hall of College of Education. The signing ceremony was followed by a joint concert between Torino and SZU art students.


Consul General of Italy at Guangzhou, Director of the Torino Conservatorio Prof. Maria Luisa Pacciani was met by SZU President Prof. Zhang Bigong and Vice President, Prof. Ruan Shuangchen before the ceremony. President Zhang firstly gave a welcoming speech to the Italian guests. He told that SZU’s cooperation with Italy started from Torino when Shenzhen went to Torino for the bidding of 2011 Universiade in 2007. Shenzhen and Torino had become partner cities since then. Accordingly, University of Torino and Shenzhen University became partner universities. Since then, the two universities started to take in exchange students between each other. Director Pacciani extended her regards to SZU and she hoped that the two institutions would deepen the cooperation in the future because she felt the universal love on music both from Shenzhen students and the Italian people. She also invited President Zhang to visit the Conservatorio.


Consul General of Italy sent regards of Mayor of Torino on his behalf. He said the cooperation between Shenzhen and Torino was a good example between China and Italy. As the cooperation has been increasingly broadened in recent years, he prospects optimistically about the future cooperation between the two cities.


Then, President Zhang and Director Pacciani signed the agreement and exchanged gifts before the concert.
